Not Your Average Holiday Cookies
Want to get your nutrients and eat your cookies too?
This holiday season, try these recipes that incorporate whole-wheat flour, egg whites and other ingredients to give a healthier spin on your favorite classic cookies! Here are a few of our favorite recipes!
Flourless Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookies
Out of flour after making the first three recipes? Don’t worry — you won’t need it! Whisk together the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, salt and eggs. Throw in peanut butter and mini chocolate chips, and scoop onto baking sheets. When you see the batter cracking, pull them out, let them cool, and dig in!
Fudgy White Chocolate Peppermint Cookies
Make the dough the night before using white whole wheat flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, brown sugar and a couple other ingredients. Waiting for the dough to chill may feel like eternity, but this gooey peppermint goodness is worth the wait. Wrap your chilled dough around a peppermint kiss, roll in granulated sugar, bake and enjoy!
No-Bake White Chocolate Cranberry Cookies
Forgot to make something for the holiday party that starts in half an hour? No problem! You can make these no-bake cookies in under 15 minutes. Combine your dry ingredients, stir in nut butter and syrup, add cranberries and white chocolate chunks, and thicken with dairy free milk. Form into cookie shapes, freeze for 10 minutes, and enjoy!
No-Bake Coconut Delights
Live in a dorm without an oven? Or maybe you just don’t feel like baking? This recipe is for you. Throw all the ingredients in a food processor or blender, mold into balls, and top with drizzled chocolate and shredded coconut for the perfect no-bake delight!
Peanut Butter Hershey’s Kiss Cookies
Whisk together flour and salt; stir together butter, vanilla and an egg; and add brown sugar and peanut butter to make your dough. Bake the dough as slightly flattened, one inch balls while you unwrap the kisses you’ll need (and maybe sneak one or two to eat now). When the cookies are done, let them cool for two minutes and press an unwrapped chocolate kiss on each cookie.
