EGG-citing Ways to Celebrate Easter

Getting into the Easter spirit might feel a bit childish. You’re a twenty-something and too cool for Easter, right? Wrong. There are still plenty of ways for young adults to have a little fun around Easter.

All it takes is a sprinkle of creativity and a dollop of ingenuity to turn childhood favorites into timeless traditions. Embrace everything Easter with these five fun activities that even college students can't outgrow!

Hunt Easter Eggs

This isn’t your typical egg hunt. You’ll need hiders, finders and as many plastic eggs as you want. Grab some of your friends and fill the Easter eggs with your favorite Easter candy, sweet trinkets and gift cards. You can even throw a few hard-boiled eggs into the mix to switch things up! Don’t forget the “golden egg” as the grand prize!

Have a "Secret Easter Bunny"

Try throwing a super-secret Easter basket swap! Similar to the ever-popular Secret Santa game, assign each person a “Secret Easter Bunny” and have them make their assigned person a special Easter basket! Whether it is a gag gift or a practical one filled with their favorite things, your friend will appreciate the thought!

Decorate Easter Eggs

For all the creatives out there, this one is for you. A great way to decorate Easter eggs is to use watercolors. Egg shells have a surprisingly similar consistency to watercolor paper and hold the paint very well. It creates a delicate spring vibe that works great with traditional Easter tones. If painting isn’t your thing, no worries. You can easily find a decorating kit in any grocery store around Easter!

Get a Picture With The Easter Bunny

Take a friend, brother or sister, and head to the mall to get a grown-up picture with the Easter bunny. You might feel out of place in a line full of toddlers, but if you stick with it, you’ll have a great story and a funny picture to remember the moment. If you’re feeling brave, try and recreate and old picture from your childhood and surprise your parents with the picture as a gift for Easter!

Volunteer

Easter is the perfect time to give back to the community. Whether you help out with a community Easter egg hunt or deliver meals to those in need, there are plenty of ways to give back! Ask your friends to join and research online for some different options here in Auburn or in your own community back home!
