Two YouTubers That Inspire Me

Since I’ve been spending much more time at home the past few months, I have found myself browsing YouTube to kick my boredom.

YouTube has a video for just about anything you can imagine. However, finding truly good content can often be difficult. I have recently found two YouTubers that have inspired me to better myself over the past few months, and I think they can inspire you too.

 Mike Boyd

Mike Boyd learns a new skill or hobby in just about every video. Some of his recent content includes learning to solve a Rubik’s Cube blindfolded, learning to fish with no hook, and learning to hold his breath underwater for four minutes. He usually starts by setting an end goal, then records a time-lapse of however many hours, days, or weeks it takes to reach that goal. Mike is a regular person that strives to quell his curiosity and succeeds in doing so. These videos have motivated me to try new hobbies over the past few months, which I have found to be rewarding and comforting.

 Mark Rober

You have probably already seen one of Mark Rober’s videos, as he frequents the YouTube trending page with just about every video he makes. Mark is a former NASA engineer that is doing a lot to teach science in a fun and unique way to all audiences. “Feeding Bill Gates a Fake Burger” and “Rocket Powered Golf Club” are both literal descriptions of two of the videos he’s made. Mark is extremely passionate about what he is doing, which is what makes his content so interesting and popular. Seeing such positive feedback for his creativity and passions has fueled my desire to think and create, free of judgment.

Next time you’re falling desperately down the YouTube rabbit-hole, try your shot at one of these guys’ videos. They will almost certainly have a video that will pique your interest and maybe even inspire you in some way!

Be well, Auburn.
