Favorite Foodies to Follow
On Sundays, I hit the “reset button.” This is the day I check my assignments, clean, and plan my meals for the week. Sometimes I struggle with “recipe rut” and creating the same things each week. For me, this typically means any version of pasta.
To prevent my roommate and friends from having to endure meal after meal of pasta dishes, I have followed a few food bloggers that provide a variety of recipes and inspiration. Follow along to find foodies that fit your vibe in the kitchen!
Love and Lemons
I describe this food connoisseur as fresh, fun, and vegetarian. Now, don’t let the “v” word fool you. I am not a vegetarian, but I love the take she has on fruits and vegetables as well as yummy baked treats. A few of my favorites include Tortellini Soup, Strawberry Muffins, Sautéed Broccoli, and Caprese Sandwiches.
Pioneer Woman
I have been a long-time fan and follower of Ree Drummond, aka The Pioneer Woman. She brings joy to my tv screen and comfort to the kitchen. When you reach her website, you are immediately greeted with colorful flowers, inviting you in to explore the page and find the perfect recipe. Some of my favorites include: Cinnamon Rolls, Pesto Cream Pasta, and Chicken Enchiladas.
Elisabeth and Butter
An Auburn University graduate, Elisabeth is sure to deliver comfort with her arsenal of baked goods. I love to reference her page on a weeknight when I am craving something sweet or over the weekend to share with friends! A few of my favorites include Halloween Candy Cookie Bars, the Fresh Strawberry Cake, and Snickerdoodle Blondies.
Pinch of Yum
Pinch of Yum is the perfect landing place on those nights when you have no idea what to cook. Pinch of Yum is organized by dietary restrictions, method, ingredients, and more! I always end up very pleased to have landed on this website when I am looking for inspiration. A few of my go-to recipes include Miracle No-Knead Bread, 15-minute Lo Mein, Sesame Beef and Broccoli, and Crunchy Roll Bowls.
Mind Body Green
Mind Body Green is a special site for all things wellness. You can find food trends, functional food, and recipes in one area. Each section has a purpose that contributes to your overall health. The recipes focus on things such as balancing blood sugar, fiber, and Omega-3s. A few of my favorites include Egg Muffins, Chicken Burgers, and the Green Smoothie.
Each one of these bloggers provide a welcoming space for the beginning cook trying to remain fed or the experienced cook wanting to have a little fun in the kitchen. We can’t wait to see what you craft in the kitchen! Let us know in the comments when you try one.
Be Well, Auburn.
