Why Zumba?

I know what you’re thinking… Zumba? Isn’t that the fitness format where you do weird dance moves over and over again until you break a sweat?

That’s what I thought too. But, here I am, (a now Zumba fanatic) where I learned it’s more like a traditional dance than I thought. If you love Just Dance, then you’ll love Zumba. Zumba is a great way to simultaneously move your body, burn calories, and have some fun.

Be Yourself

The great thing about Zumba is the fact that no one cares how advanced you are. It doesn’t matter if you started on the wrong foot or totally missed a move— the point of the class is to have as much fun as possible. The instructors are very aware and more than willing to slow down to teach the moves step by step if you are completely lost.

Accountability

For me, I found that going with friends is much more fun and keeps me accountable. Sometimes it's hard to decide between studying or heading to The Rec for your scheduled class, but I have found a true community that makes me want to go back each week.

It Really Is a Workout

I did not expect to be so exhausted after a class of constant dancing. The instructors target certain areas of the body with different dances to work each muscle (even the ones you did not know you had). You will always leave class feeling like you got a full-body workout when all you did was have fun!
