Crumbl Cookies: Is It Worth The Hype?

Crumbl has grown increasingly popular over the past few years, Mainly due to its social media presence on TikTok and Instagram.

They now have over 1,000 stores across the United States, including one in Tiger Town in Opelika. Something that makes Crumbl unique is its rotating menu. They have only 6 cookies available each week, and the lineup changes every Monday. So, if you see something you like, you better get it while you can!

This week’s lineup looked especially interesting, so I decided to try some cookies and see if they live up to the hype. Here’s what was on the menu that week:

Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunk
The ‘Afterlife’ Cake*
Banana Bread*
Churro
Strawberry Shortcake
Triple Chocolate Chip

More Than Just Cookies

Recently, Crumbl has branched out from more than just cookies and usually offers at least one alternative dessert option on its menu. This week, they only had 4 cookies, but also included a Beetlejuice-themed cake and a banana bread loaf in the lineup.

Get The Full Line-Up

You can purchase cookies individually, or in 4, 6, or 12-packs. Crumbl also offers mini sizes, which are 2.6” in diameter, compared to the regular size, which is 4.25.” The minis are available for purchase in 3, 6, or 12-packs. Their cookies are pretty big, so I decided to opt for the minis, ordering a 3-pack with Churro, Strawberry Shortcake, and Triple Chocolate Chip. I also decided to try the banana loaf.

Triple Chocolate Chip: 5/10

First up was Triple Chocolate. I am a huge chocolate lover, so I had high hopes for this one. I prefer my cookies soft and warm, so I was a little disappointed that this one was on the crunchier side. I enjoyed the taste, but the chocolate flavor wasn’t as strong as I thought it would be. I probably wouldn’t order this one again.

Strawberry Shortcake: 8/10

Next up was Strawberry Shortcake. They absolutely nailed the strawberry shortcake flavor. The cookie was soft and moist, pairing perfectly with the whipped cream and strawberry topping. My one complaint would be that the strawberry topping was a little overpowering, but overall this was a great cookie.

Churro: 10/10

The last of the minis did not disappoint! This cookie was pure deliciousness. It had the perfect amount of frosting, coupled with an additional layer of cinnamon sugar on top to give it a perfect churro taste. I highly recommend trying this one if it ever makes its way back onto the menu!

Banana Bread: 3/10

Last up is the banana bread loaf. Now, I love banana bread, but this loaf was disappointing. I’ve always believed that nothing can top homemade banana bread, and this once again proved me right. It tasted rather bland, and in my opinion, was missing a key ingredient – the chocolate chips. If you ask me, no banana bread is complete without chocolate chips.

Overall, I was pretty happy with my visit to Crumbl. While not all the cookies were a hit, there were a few I was really impressed with. I will definitely be keeping an eye on the menu in case they ever bring the Churro cookie back!
