On Saturday, November 9th, students from Auburn University will lead interpretive hikes at Kiesel Park, 520 Chadwick Lane. Come explore the ecology, history, and heritage of the area from students in the College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment. In addition to the hikes, staff from the Alabama Wildlife Federation and Nature Center will be on hand, providing interpretive and educational information.
The first hike will depart at 9 a.m., and the last hike will depart at 11:20 a.m., with hikes beginning every 20 minutes within this time range. Each hike will be approximately 60-90 minutes in length and will explore the 2.25-miles of nature trails at Kiesel Park. All are welcome to attend!
These hikes are produced by students in the College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment and is supported by the City of Auburn Park and Recreation Department. The class - PARK 3010: Environmental Interpretation - is part of the new Parks and Recreation Management Program at Auburn University. This program empowers and prepares students to effectively manage the wide variety of parks and protected areas, help create and promote opportunities for recreation of all types, and ultimately become better stewards of the natural environment
