Begun in 2021, Music for a Summer’s Evening is a ministry of St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church with two goals in mind: support and provide a venue for local musicians to share their talents with the public, and to provide the downtown Auburn neighborhood with a chance to delight and gather in joy.
The Music for a Summer’s Evening concerts take place outside, in front of St. Dunstan’s each Thursday from 5:30pm-6:30pm during June and July. Chairs are set up under the crepe myrtle trees facing the church, which allows the long porch to be used as a stage. The trees provide welcome shade to musicians and guests alike. People are encouraged to bring refreshments, coolers, or their own chair with them. It is a time of entertainment for the community and delight for all. And it is free to the public.
