Everything You Need to Know About Coach by Color
Starting this February, Auburn Campus Recreation is rolling out some major changes to our cycling classes, designed to make the most of your workout. Welcome to Coach by Color.
Developed and maintained by ICG, Coach by Color allows cycle instructors to lead participants through five intensity zones (ranging from very light to maximum effort). Zones are assigned colors, from white to blue to green to yellow to red. Throughout the class, the instructor will unify the group, encouraging everyone to progress through the zones together.
Thanks to ICG’s app, your intensity zones are adjusted to your appropriate fitness level. That way, the entire class can push themselves to their individual limits – together. Within the app, you’ll also view your fitness progression and past workouts. Ever wanted to track your cycling improvement over the course of the semester? Now it’s easier than ever before.
Try it for yourself in our Coach by Color group fitness class, offered daily here at The Rec. Check out the calendar for a full schedule. Don’t forget to download the ICG app before the class, now available for iOS and Android devices.
