Woke Up Like This: Overnight Heatless Hairstyles

Give your hair a break and try these overnight heatless hairstyles!

Every day was a bad hair day for me unless I woke up early enough to straighten or blow dry my hair. The never-ending cycle of heat exposure made my hair frizzy, dry, and tangled. So, I decided to try a trend I saw on TikTok. I have done overnight styles ever since. I have tried many styles and many funny-looking buns— here are my favorites!

Heatless Curls With A Sock

This is my absolute favorite hairstyle. It is my go-to most nights— it is easy and takes five minutes. All you need is a pair of long socks (or more depending on how thick or long your hair is).

With the sock upside down, use a clip to secure it close to the hairline. Create two sections of hair and twist around the sock, make sure to go away from your face when doing this. Once you get to the end pull the bottom of the sock over your hair. It is better to use a longer sock. Unclip your hair and repeat on the other side. While it may look a little silly now, in the morning it will be bouncy beautiful curls!

Blowout with a Scrunchie

While this one takes a little bit longer, the results are amazing!
For this one, you will need a scrunchie and bobby pins. Put your hair into a high ponytail, but keep the volume at the top— do not brush it flat. Once it is in the ponytail with the scrunchie section the hair into four pieces. Then grab the end and use your finger to wrap the hair around, making a loop. When you have a loop use your fingers to roll it up to the scrunchie. If a few pieces fall out that's ok, it's more of a blowout look than curly!

Secure the loop at the base of the scrunchie with two bobby pins so it does not fall out while sleeping. Continue to do this with the remaining three sections. Your hair should look relatively like a bun. A higher ponytail will help you to avoid disturbed hair. In the morning, it will look like you came right out of the hair salon.

Heatless Twists

If you want tighter curls this is the one for you! This one is easy, quick, and comfortable. The least crazy hairstyle too… For this, you only need two hair bands. Section your hair in two, like you are about to do pigtail braids. Start this hairstyle by getting a small section from the top – splitting it in two and twisting both pieces towards your face. The tighter the twist, the tighter the curls will be. Cross the front piece over the back piece, again twist towards your face, and cross the front piece with the back piece.

When you start going down the hair shaft, begin incorporating more hair into the pieces. Put more hair with the front piece and twist, crossing it with the back piece. Now with the new front piece grab another section of hair to add, twist, and cross. Do this down until all hair is incorporated. Secure the hair at the end with a hair tie and repeat on the other side! When taking out your hair make sure to finger comb it or use a wide toothcomb since a brush could make it frizzy.

A bad hair day can ruin your mood, but with these hairstyles, it is impossible to have one. You can really say you woke up like this! Not only does it save time, but it also looks great and does not require any heat at all. Put your hair health first with these heatless hairstyles!
