Nutritious Breakfast Recipe
I am sure you have heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Eating a nutritious breakfast fuels you to tackle the day ahead. Prepping a meal beforehand has been a game changer for me, as I usually have little time to spare in the mornings. One of my favorite things to make for breakfast is overnight oats. After perfecting the base, you can mix and match toppings to create a new and flavorful meal every time.
Let’s get started: Grab a mason jar or a sealable container. The main ingredients for the base are old-fashioned oats, protein powder, Greek yogurt, and flax seeds.
- ½ cup of oats
- ½ cup Greek yogurt
- 1 scoop of protein powder
- 2 tablespoons of flax seeds grounds
First, add the oats as the base layer in the jar.
Next, top them with ½ cup of Greek yogurt. Any flavor works, but I prefer vanilla. Add in one scope of protein powder of your choice; again, vanilla is my go-to.
Last, but not least, top everything off with flax seeds to add fiber.
The final step is to add a little milk or water to cover the top of your mixture and stir it. Let your oats set overnight in the refrigerator.
In the morning, I add coconut flakes, blueberries, and honey or maple syrup for my toppings. The possibilities are endless! I hope you try this recipe and enjoy it as much as I do.
Enjoy your breakfast, and…
