Everything Worth Doing in October in Auburn-Opelika

Costumes, candy and creepy movies. October has arrived and fall is in full swing, which means there are all sorts of activities to do around Auburn!

Farmer in the Dell Pumpkin Patch

Need a good backdrop for your “It’s fall!” Instagram post? Visit Farmer in the Dell Pumpkin Patch. Enjoy picking out pumpkins, hayrides and playing with the baby cows. (They are every bit as adorable as they sound).

Lee County Fair

If you enjoy roller coasters (and feeling sick from eating too much deep-fried food), you’ll be excited to hear the Lee County fair is back. Grab your friends for a night of fun starting Oct. 2-6.

Fright Nights at the Arboretum

Been crushing on that cute boy from The Rec? The Donald E. Davis Arboretum and Auburn Parks and Recreation are bringing back Fright Nights at the Arboretum every Friday night during the month of October. The events are free, and the movies range from It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown to The Exorcist. Grab a blanket and some snacks, and you’ve got yourself an ideal date night. Check the full movie schedule here.

30th Annual Pumpkin Carve

What screams fall and Halloween more than 400 lit jack-o-lanterns? The Auburn College of Architecture will celebrate their 30th Annual Pumpkin Carve on Oct. 26 from 6-9 p.m. If you’ve never seen it, it’s quite a boo-tiful sight!

Downtown Trick or Treat

To cap off the October festivities, the city of Auburn will hold its 16th Annual Downtown Trick or Treat on Halloween night from 6-8 p.m. It’s a great Auburn tradition, and did I mention you’ll get a bunch of free treats from the downtown merchants? Put on that award-winning costume and have a happy Halloween!

Be well, Auburn.
