Keep the Cheer Here: Guide to Uniquely Auburn Holiday Gifts
Put your money where your heart is. ‘Tis the season to shop local.
There’s a lot to do this holiday season. There are peppermint mochas to be consumed, trees to be decorated, and Christmas movies to be watched. Let’s not forget — there are also gifts to be given. Because gift-giving can be tricky, I’ve compiled a few local spots you can visit to knock out your holiday shopping.
Mama Mocha’s Coffee, $
Give the gift of caffeine this holiday season. Stop by Mama Mocha’s and grab a 12-ounce bag of one of their small-batch coffees. Pro tip: this is a fantastic gift idea for the notoriously hard-to-shop-for dad or grandfather.
Gear from Griff Goods, $$$
For the hipster in your life. Head over to Griff Goods in Opelika for some pointers on picking out the perfect (and sustainable) gift for the uber-stylish friend or family member in your life.
Whimsy Matcha, $$
You’ve probably seen Whimsy all over Instagram, but did you know you can purchase their matcha online? All health junkies and matcha mavens will absolutely love receiving this as a gift.
A good page-turner from Auburn Oil Co., $
Auburn Oil Co. is new in town, so go show them some love. I like gifting books for friends or family, because you can tailor the book to that person’s interests or favorite authors. And hey, gift giving is hard. Treat yourself to a coffee while you’re there.
Game day gear from Scarlet + Gold, $$
Auburn-themed Christmas gifts? War eagle to that. Scarlet + Gold has a wide array of stylish Auburn and Alabama gear for the Auburn students, alumni, or fans on your list. Not to mention, their Christmas line is super festive. I’m talking T-shirts, tumblers, sweatshirts, and more. You can find some of their signature graphic tees at Therapy Boutique.
Auburn candles from Auburn Art, $
One of my mom’s friends gave her a Toomer’s Lemonade candle from Auburn Art. Honestly, I’ve thought about *borrowing* it a few times. This is a great small gift or stocking stuffer for anyone who loves the smell of Toomer’s Lemonade, Magnolia Avenue (whatever that smells like), and Auburn Autumn.
Statement earrings from A Hard Clay’s Night
These fun statement earrings are the perfect gift for your mom, your fun aunt, your sister, your friends, or really anyone else you might be buying gifts for. While A Hard Clay’s Night often does pop-up shops in the Auburn area, you can also purchase via Instagram comment or DM.
So there you have it. Show your friends and family some love this season while supporting some of your favorite local businesses. Did we leave anything off the list? Let us know in the comments below or on social media, @AuburnCampusRec.
Be well, Auburn.

Mallory is a marketing major from Birmingham, Alabama who has loved every second of her time at Auburn. When she’s not napping, you can most likely find her at night cycle or any establishment that serves coffee.
Mallory’s likes include using the cowboy emoji, talking way too much about her study abroad experience, and listening to Mumford & Sons. Her dislikes? Staying up past 10 p.m. and country music.
