Weirdest April Holidays

April has several well-known holidays like April Fool’s Day and Easter, but apparently, it Has many smaller holidays that we never knew about.
Every day has something new to celebrate, so join me as I take you through some of the weirdest April holidays I could find.
National Frog Month
This first one really took me by surprise. An entire month dedicated to frogs. I have always liked frogs and have several photos on my phone of frogs I’ve found. So, discovering that the month of April allows me to celebrate them for 30 days straight made me pretty excited. This April, go for a walk around Auburn or wherever you desire and keep an eye out for little frogs hopping around. I guess we can all appreciate them a little more this April!
National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day – April 2
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches have always been a classic, but as we all get older, we probably don’t get to eat them as much as we did in childhood. Of course, though, April has a day just for that! On April 2nd, take some time to enjoy a delicious peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and make some for your friends, too! For National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day, I will certainly be enjoying a sandwich that I haven’t had in years.
National Burrito Day – April 3
Another one for the foodies! National Burrito Day on April 3rd is a day to celebrate the beloved burrito, a tortilla filled with a mix of savory ingredients. Take this day to try a new kind of burrito or change up your typical order. You can also get together with some friends and try making your own burritos! As a fellow burrito lover, I can’t wait to celebrate this day with my friends and family!
National Read a Road Map Day – April 5
If you’ve been looking for a day to enjoy some nature and take a trip with friends, April 5th is the perfect opportunity. On National Read a Road Map Day, hop in the car with your friends or family and turn that GPS off! It’s time to go back to our roots and grab those dusty paper maps that are shoved between the car seats. You may need all hands on deck, but together you can successfully read your map and find some fun locations around the area.
National Draw a Picture of a Bird Day – April 8
This one’s for all the art lovers out there. If you’re having a mental block and can’t figure out where to take your artistic talents next, use National Draw a Picture of a Bird Day on April 8th as an opportunity to find your strengths. If you aren’t much of a drawer, take this day to go on a walk or just go out in nature and find some fun birds to try to identify and draw a quick sketch of them. The drawings don’t have to be good; it’s the thought that counts!
Blah Blah Blah Day – April 17
This last one sounds a little funny, but it’s actually a great opportunity. Blah Blah Blah Day on April 17th is a day to do all the projects people have been nagging you about. Whether it’s something your boss asked you to do two months ago or something you and your partner have been wanting to do around the house, take this day to complete all the little tasks that have been piling up. You’ll be sure to feel accomplished and refreshed when the day is done!
These are just a few of the many weird holidays in April. Take some time to research some others and use April to try some new things. I will certainly be celebrating every day this month!
Be Well, Auburn.

Molly was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. Despite a family full of Alabama fans, a brief tour of Auburn’s campus captivated her heart, and she soon embraced the vibrant atmosphere and welcoming community. Initially unsure of her path, Molly began her college career as a journalism major. After one year at an SEC school, however, she quickly discovered her passion for sports, specifically basketball. Now a sports production major, she hopes to work with Auburn Athletics following graduation.
When she's not busy with work or classes, you can find Molly at a basketball or soccer game, enjoying a movie marathon, spending time with her close friends, or driving down the road to visit her parents. In the next few years, Molly aims to remain involved on campus and continue to learn all she can about the sports industry... and, of course, graduate!
