Love is in the Air: Galentine's Day Hosting Ideas

The holiday of love is A day to celebrate all the kinds of love in your life! So call up your girls, put on your cutest pinks and reds, and get ready to take cute pictures and celebrate with your best friends!

Decorations and Photo Inspiration

1. “Ways You’ve Seen Love Today” Board

This is a cute, sweet, and easy DIY way to put love in the air. On a piece of butcher paper or a brown paper bag as seen in the picture, write “Ways you’ve seen love today” and leave space at the bottom for your friends to fill with sweet demonstrations of love and kindness!

2. Spray-Paint Banner

All you need for this is a white sheet and a few bottles of spray paint! Spray a few hearts onto the sheet in colors of your choice and, after leaving it for a few hours to dry, hang it up for a quick and easy photo backdrop!

3. Heart-Shaped Place Card

For a Valentine’s twist on your dinner seating chart, head to your local Hobby Lobby or Michael’s and get a few clear resin hearts. Write your friend’s names on them and top it off with some pink ribbon wrapped around a napkin!

4. Polaroid Photo Gallery

A few weeks before your Galentine’s party, have your friends send you their favorite photos and print them off Polaroid style (you can also just use Polaroid photos). Punch a hole in the top and with clear fishing wire, hang them from the ceiling to create a fun and sweet exhibit of the good times you and your friends have shared!

♡ You can also have your friends write notes on the back of the pictures, documenting either what was happening in the photo or the other people in the picture for a more sentimental touch.

Food and Drink

1. Do-It-Yourself Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Chocolate-covered strawberries are a classic Valentine’s staple. An easy way to make them interactive is to take a bar of Hershey’s chocolate and melt it into a bowl. Leave your strawberries in a separate bowl, and as people want them, they can make their own chocolate-covered strawberries!

♡ You can also include fun sprinkles like hearts or pink and red crystals for some flair!

2. Charcuterie Board

At almost any holiday party you’ll find some form of charcuterie board, but there are a few ways to make it a bit more festive!

♡ You can fold your salami into a rose in a few easy folds. There are how-to videos on YouTube, and these salami roses are too easy to mess up!

♡ Fill your board with pinks, reds, whites, and chocolate. From blueberry goat cheese to chocolate cherries, there is an abundance of opportunities to make your board holiday-themed.

♡ Add some rose petals for a simple Valentine’s sparkle!

3. Pink Punch

There are many different combinations to make this perfectly pink sparkly punch! The recipe I use and love is:

♡ Sprite

♡ Frozen Pink lemonade

♡ Pink Edible Glitter

♡ Maraschino Cherries

Valentine’s Day is too cute a holiday to just let it pass by. Grab your girls and have fun with it – I know I will!

Be Well, Auburn.

Neily was born and raised in Homewood Alabama, one of the many Birmingham suburbs. She fell in love with the way Auburn reflected the small-town feel of her hometown, and when choosing a college, it became nearly impossible for her to say no to the community Auburn had to offer. She is a sophomore currently working towards a degree in Communications with a minor in Leadership.

In the spirit of her love for people, you can often find Neily surrounded by the community that drew her to Auburn. Whether it be on a hike at Chewacla with friends or saying hi to a stranger at her favorite coffee shop Side Track, Neily finds joy in conversation and seeks it frequently. She is a founding member of Red Barn Worship, a campus ministry of which she is one of the lead worship singers. Neily is also highly involved at her church, where she leads a community group of Auburn freshman girls and serves on Sundays.

After college, Neily hopes to move to Lookout Mountain, where her younger brother is currently in school to pursue a career in ministry.
