Single and Thriving: A Valentine's Day Survival Guide

As someone who’s been single and thriving for quite a while, I’m not always the biggest fan when that one February day rolls around.
Sure, you can try to ignore Valentine’s Day, but let’s face it, there’s no escaping it. Everywhere you look, happy couples are out enjoying their day. But who says you can’t enjoy it too? I’m here to tell you—YES, you absolutely can! You deserve to feel loved and celebrated on Valentine’s Day too. So, here are a few ideas to help chase away those love-day blues!
Have a girls/guys day
If you have friends who are also single, gather the crew and plan a fun-filled day! Whether it’s catching a movie, booking a night at a hotel, dining at your favorite restaurant, playing pickleball, or anything else that brings you joy. The possibilities are endless.
Go Out of Town
Why not make Valentine’s Day an excuse for a mini getaway? Explore a nearby city, take a hike somewhere scenic, or book a stay at a cute Airbnb. A change of scenery can work wonders, and treating yourself to a solo adventure or traveling with friends can make the day memorable for all the right reasons.
Pamper Yourself
Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse for some self-care. Get that massage you’ve been putting off, take a bubble bath, do a face mask, or splurge on a treat like a new outfit or dessert from your favorite bakery. Celebrate you because you’re worth it!
Indulge in your favorites
Order takeout from your go-to spot, binge-watch your comfort TV show, or listen to your favorite music while doing absolutely nothing. Make the day about the things that make you happiest.
Remember, Valentine’s Day is your day too. Whether it’s about self-love, friendship, or a little indulgence, you can make it as fun and meaningful as you want. So, plan something that brings you joy and reminds you how amazing you are, because you truly deserve it.
