Important Notice: Auburn Recreation and Wellness Temporary Closure

Dear valued members of the Auburn Recreation and Wellness community,

With anticipation and excitement, we deliver an important announcement regarding the future of our facility. After careful consideration and with the continued dedication to providing recreation and wellness opportunities for Auburn University students, we have decided to temporarily close the Recreation and Wellness facility from Summer 2024 until Spring 2025.

Having proudly served our community for over a decade, we recognize the need for continual improvement to ensure that our facilities align with the evolving needs of our members. This temporary closure will enable us to undergo extensive remodeling and enhancements aimed at optimizing the utility and aesthetics of our space.

During this time, all areas of The Rec, including the basketball courts, workout equipment, rock wall, and all other recreational facilities will be closed. We understand the significance of The Rec as a safe space for holistic growth. Rest assured, our commitment to serving your health and wellness remains the same.

Upon closing in late May, we are excited to introduce a series of complimentary classes for all Auburn students. These classes will be hosted on both The Rec Pickleball/Tennis courts and the SportsPlex, led by the familiar faces you have come to know and love in your Group Fitness classes. Additionally, on select Mind and Body workshop days, we will provide food and refreshments to all attending members.

We recognize the deep connection students have with The Rec, and we aim to return with a revitalized space that exceeds your expectations. We appreciate your patience and support as we work towards creating an even more exceptional environment for you.

With that being said, we have one more thing to share… April Fools!

Be well, Auburn!

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, living in Kentucky for 12 years, and moving to Alabama in middle school, Nathan has experienced many different walks of life. Nathan is currently a junior majoring in Marketing and plans to graduate in May of 2024.

Basketball has always been a staple, and Nathan developed a passion for it at a young age. Upon moving to Alabama, Nathan found a new love in football. At first, he was impartial to the battle of Auburn vs. Alabama, but after seeing the Auburn campus for the first time, it was love at first sight.

Outside of school, Nathan developed a passion for films at a young age, specifically enjoying the works of Tarantino, Ari Aster, and Kubrick. While he loves all aspects of the film process, he particularly enjoys video editing, and aspires to be an editor for a large streaming company like Netflix, Hulu, or HBO.

Nathan also enjoys spending his free time watching/playing basketball, playing the guitar, listening to music, and going to the gym. Nathan looks forward to the rest of his time at Auburn and plans on living it to the fullest!
