Golf for Beginners: How to Get Started on the Course

With spring Upon us, here is the perfect guide on how to get started on the golf course.
The first step to getting started on the golf course is to dress the correct way. The proper attire is a collared shirt and nice shorts or pants. For shoes, you can wear golf shoes or tennis shoes; however, don’t wear open-toed shoes like sandals. A lot of people wear hats out to play golf, but it is not mandatory.
What to Bring to the Golf Course
The first thing you need to bring to the course is a set of golf clubs. You can either bring your own or rent them from the golf course. As you improve, you may want to invest in higher-quality clubs; however, any clubs are fine to start with.
Next on the list are golf balls. For someone just getting into golf, the type of ball you use doesn’t matter much. The difference between expensive and cheaper golf balls isn’t as significant to on-course success as many people think.
Golf is hard. So, everyone would love to have a good snack halfway through their round. Snacks are a great way to cheer yourself up after a bad shot and allow you to not have to pay for food after the round at the course.
Bring Your Friends!
The times I’ve spent playing golf with my friends are some of my favorite memories in college, as it allows me to have fun and enjoy being outside. Whenever I need to calm down after a stressful week, being able to go do something I love brings me the relaxation I need.
