Spring Cleaning

The best way to set yourself up for success in the second semester is spring cleaning.
You will feel more equipped to tackle the second half of the semester if you do a light post-spring break refresh. Creating a space that feels clean can help clear your mind so that you can focus on other tasks that you need to get done.
Deep Clean
It’s time to wash everything you have been putting off. High traffic areas such as your couch cushion covers, duvets, and bathmats often get forgotten when doing laundry. It can be annoying to take the couch covers off or to disassemble your duvet but doing this will make your house feel so much cleaner. Replacing old shower curtains and shower liners can help keep mold from growing so that your bathroom remains a space where you can feel clean. It is much more relaxing to come home from a day of classes to a clean home.
Restock
One interesting spring cleaning trend from social media claims that refreshing your sock drawer is an underrated way to elevate your morning routine. Nobody likes to have to fish through a drawer looking for socks without holes or that are close to the same height or color. Getting a fresh package of matching socks can help speed up your morning routine and give you one less thing to stress about when getting ready.
Kitchen Cleanout
Don’t forget your fridge and pantry during spring cleaning! Unfortunately, there is probably some expired food or empty boxes in your fridge and pantry. Maybe it’s the half-finished energy drink from a few weeks ago that you never came back for or the leftovers you meant to eat the following day. Now is a good time to throw out these items to make room for fun spring meals. If you want to take it a step further, wiping down your refrigerator shelves and doors can help with your refresh.
By committing to cleaning and refreshing some of these spaces, you will be able to use your energy on more important things. Being able to relax in a clean living space can help you have a productive end of the school year.
